The bulldog is known to have a few problems with health issues. Due to the shape of the lower jaw and the shortness of its muzzle, breathing issues can cause a Bulldog to snore. Bulldogs are very sensitive to heat and cold and they should be looked after during very warm periods. Owners should make sure a Bulldog is kept out of standing heat, given plenty of water and a place with shade. One should regularly exercise a Bulldog, since they are prone to gaining weight. Overfeeding and lack of exercise can have a negative effect on the heart and lungs of this breed. Although this breed can be considered high-maintenance, in the end it is worth it.
